-Last night, Danielle sat on the roof with Kuma and unwillingly shed the first tears since her capture. She hadn't wanted to cry- she didn't want to cry over it ever again. Like Kuma did what he had to so, so had she. She allowed herself little to no remorse for her actions. It wasn't as if they'd kidnapped and tortured themselves. None of it had been and game, and Danielle firmly believed it to not be over. After last nights chat was over, she knew Kuma thought the same.-
-They'd talked fleetingly of his distrust for Kano and Ren. It had been hard, but Danielle could keep a secret and she did. That being what Kano told her before he left for Japan. Danielle had her reservations, of course. She knew Kano could care less about who took control of the white devil tigers, because the words had come from his own mouth. Kumas fears there were unfounded. Kano was going for Hana. Just as Kuma had ended Kevin for his transgressions, Kano wished to do the same to Hana. She knew it wasn't just revenge for what happened with the kidnapping, as well. Danielle was bright enough to put two and two together and realize that Ren had been taken by their captors and messed with long before Danielle even knew of their existance. This truth lurked in the eyes of all the Blaylock children. It only took a little thinking to know it all in the end. But she'd tell nobody. Danielle could certainly keep a secret.-
-For these days, she spent time hanging with Brandon and resuming their silly banter. She'd made no sexual overtures in the time since she'd been back. Why, she couldn't figure. She'd barely spoken with her family, Conrad included. Eva was another she avoided. She wasn't sure why. It just seemed like after she spent her mornings running with Ren and Micheal, followed by class and then time in her room, there was none left. This was irony considering she hadn't been sleeping much lately. She'd only told Ren and Kuma of the nightmares she'd been having. What was she doing with the extra time? There would be times when she was in her room and then hours later it seemed as if no time had passed. She couldn't explain it and wouldn't dare ask for anyone to explain it to her. She didn't want people to think she was crazy, which she felt half the time.-
-The words Kuma had spoken before leaving the roof last night rang through her head as she stared blankly at her math book.-
What we do... is we prepare ourselves for everything and anything. And then we learn to take pity on those who are foolish enough to attempt to do us harm.
-The words had run a chill through her then, despite just how right she knew they were. This morning, she'd spoken with Ren and shared these thoughts. The former captives might not be united in appearance, but as Ren nodded her agreement, Danielle at least knew they all felt the same thing.-
